Position Summary
The Clinical Supervisor II is a registered nurse responsible for the overall quality of patient care at a specified site(s) of Covenant Medical Group. The Clinical Supervisor II has oversight for clinical services performed in either a specialty clinic that is of a size that would require a clinical supervisor role or has responsibility for clinical oversight of at least three or more distinct clinics (specialty or primary care).
Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing/hiring, staffing, employee development, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures.
- Supervision of staff to include RNs, Nurse Clinicians, and Medical Assistants.
- Team development and leadership of staff at a specified Covenant Medical Management location(s).
- Determines optimal team composition by making day by day team assignments based on appointments for physicians or non-physician practitioners and chemotherapy treatments.
- Establishes and evaluates core competencies for all clinical team members in assigned clinic(s).
- Identifies learning needs of clinical team members and coaches employees towards meeting those needs.
- Schedules and prepares for clinical staff meetings in conjunction with the Office Manager.
- Maintains knowledge of all issues relating to Clinical Services.
- Serves as liaison with the Office Manager, Practice Manager, physicians, and additional individuals responsible for coordinated customer care in order to achieve mission/vision goals.
- Reviews and responds to quality of care problems with staff, physicians, and customers.
- Bridges escalated issues to the Clinic Manager for evaluation and response.
- Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills, including appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the entire life span.
- Collaborates with the patient, physician, and other care team members as part of a team based approach to overall patient care.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Completes required education assignments annually.
- Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
- Minimum Experience: Minimum two (2) years of nursing leadership experience.
- Licensure Requirement: T N Registered Nurse License.
