About the Facility
Fort Loudoun Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, is an 87,000-square-foot hospital serving Loudon County and surrounding communities. Based in Lenoir City, TN, the facility offers advanced technology including MRI, CT, ultrasound, diagnostic X-rays, women’s imaging, and nuclear medicine unique to the region. About the Role
Provides professional nursing care within the Emergency Department on a PRN/OCC basis with variable hours and shifts. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines, correlates patient history, and implements plans of care appropriate to diagnosis and patient needs. Evaluates outcomes and resolves complex issues without oversight or supervision.
Responsibilities
- Complete nursing history and initiate patient education.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate patient care.
- Demonstrate competence in delivering care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to achieve department/facility goals and quality initiatives.
- Serve as Clinical Coach for orientation and continuing education of new employees and students.
- Instruct annual continuing education events such as skills day, education programs, and new equipment in-services.
- Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
- Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Complete required education assignments annually.
- Work toward achieving goals and objectives and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional nursing experience.
- Must have and maintain a Tennessee RN license.
- CPR certification required.
