CLIN NURSE III

About the Role

Provides professional nursing care within the Critical Care Unit, coordinating care planning with other disciplines. Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care and nursing home care. Assesses needs of patient and family, develops and initiates plan of care, recommends interventions, and evaluates the plan of care.

Demonstrates clinical expertise and knowledge to resolve complex patient and physician management problems without supervision. Leads or participates in process improvement initiatives and precepts new employees or students. Provides four contact hours of educational activities, excluding basic patient education, and contributes to the development and evaluation of the unit orientation program.

Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards, completes required education assignments annually, and participates in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs, develop and initiate plan of care, and evaluate outcomes.
• Coordinate care planning with other disciplines and correlate patient history.
• Resolve complex patient and physician management problems independently.
• Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives within the unit or facility.
• Precept new employees or students and review clinical performance with unit leader or instructor.
• Provide four contact hours of educational activities (excluding basic patient education).
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of the unit orientation program.
• Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Complete annual education assignments and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Tennessee RN license.
• CPR certification required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of professional nursing experience.
• Education sufficient to meet licensure and certification standards as required by the issuing authority.

Schedule

• Full-time, 72 hours per pay period.
• Night shift.
