About the role

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist at Albany Medical Center utilizes knowledge and clinical laboratory experience to perform laboratory testing in an accurate and timely manner. They assist clinicians in the detection and diagnosis of disease, monitor illness progression, and evaluate unexpected test results.

Responsibilities

• Performs tests to aid clinicians in detecting and diagnosing diseases.
• Monitors the progress of defined illnesses or treatments initiated by a physician.
• Communicates with healthcare providers about test results and possible causes of variations.
• Aids clinicians in selecting appropriate tests for diagnostic dilemmas.
• Evaluates unexpected test results and offers advice to clinicians.

Requirements

• New York State Education Department license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Experience in the specific areas of the laboratory where the technologist is trained and deemed competent.
