Responsibilities
- Safely and productively provide arboricultural care for clients, including pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
- Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems
- Remove hazardous trees
- Maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.
- Follow the Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E.) process
- Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew
- Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program (Crew Leader responsibility)
Requirements
- Love of the outdoors
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire
- Experience with the duties listed above
- Experience leading a crew
- Preferred: Background in forestry, horticulture, landscaping, or working at heights
- Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates
- Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
Pay
Hourly pay ranging from $28.00 – $32.00 based on experience.
Schedule
- Full‑time, permanent position
- Travel expectations up to 25%
