ClientTeam Counsel
Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, seeks an experienced litigator for a highly flexible role that allows remote work without the administrative and client-development demands of a shareholder/partner track position. This position focuses on efficient, effective legal work with a lower billable hours target than full-time shareholder track attorneys.
About the role
Working with a dedicated client team(s) servicing some of the firm’s largest clients, this attorney will defend employers in employment litigation and charges of discrimination, primarily insured single/multi-plaintiff lawsuits and agency charges. While remote, the attorney will be included in the firm’s annual all-attorney retreat and have access to extensive learning and development resources.
Responsibilities
- Develop defense strategy for employment litigation and agency charges
- Perform legal research and draft pleadings
- Manage discovery-related activities, including motion practice
- Draft dispositive motions and supervise firm professionals
- Take or defend depositions, argue motions, participate in mediation, hearings, trial, or other in-person aspects of lawsuits or agency charges as required by jurisdiction
Requirements
- Actively licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of residence and Florida
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant employment litigation experience, either in-house or at a law firm
- Excellent analytical and writing skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Dedication to client service
- High level of self-motivation, accountability for work product, and responsiveness due to remote nature of the position
- Demonstrated ability to manage and work collaboratively with attorneys, administrative professionals, and clients
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Pay
- Colorado: $180,000 – $198,000
- New York State: $180,000 – $198,000
- California: $190,000 – $209,000
- Washington: $180,000 – $198,000
- District of Columbia: $180,000 – $198,000
- Baltimore, Maryland: $220,000 – $250,000
- Illinois: $180,000 – $198,000
- Massachusetts: $180,000 – $198,000
- Minnesota: $180,000 – $198,000

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
