About the role
FIRST is seeking a Client Services Intern to support our team on a 20–40-hour-a-week basis. This role will support the account management and business development team members responsible for growing existing client accounts, identifying new business opportunities, researching target companies and key decision-makers, and helping deliver client engagement activities. The ideal candidate will be curious, organized, commercially minded, and excited to learn about account management, client relationships, sales strategy, and business growth within a fast-paced creative agency environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Client Services team to support account growth, client engagement, and business development activity across FIRST’s strategic client partnerships
- Support Account Directors with research, preparation, and coordination related to existing client accounts, including account planning, client mapping, relationship tracking, and growth opportunities
- Assist the Business Development and Client Services teams by researching target companies, industries, competitors, key decision-makers, market trends, and business challenges to inform account planning and sales strategies
- Help build and maintain prospect lists, contact information, and supporting materials for outreach and engagement
- Support the preparation of client-facing materials, credentials, case studies, meeting notes, presentations, and follow-up actions
- Assist with the coordination of client engagement activities, including client meetings, roundtables, events, thought leadership initiatives, and internal planning sessions
- Support Salesforce CRM or other internal tracking tools to help maintain accurate account, contact, opportunity, and engagement information
- Partner with Marketing, Strategy, Creative, Production, and Business Development teams to gather information and support cross-functional client initiatives
- Assist with general Client Services and Business Development administrative tasks, as well as ad-hoc duties as necessary
- Bring enthusiasm, curiosity, fresh ideas, and flexibility while working with global teams across multiple time zones
- Act as an ambassador for the FIRST brand, leading by example and displaying the company’s core values: Ambition, Creativity, Excellence, Integrity, and Teamwork
Requirements
- Working towards a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Events, Hospitality, or a related field
- Interest in client relationships with a client-first service-driven mindset, account management, sales, business development, or marketing
- Prior experience in a customer service-oriented role is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research and organizational skills, with the ability to gather, synthesize, and present information clearly
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Ability to multitask and prioritize with a high attention to detail
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes direction well, and asks thoughtful questions
- Demonstrates curiosity and a keen interest in AI
- A team player with the ability to adapt to different situations, personalities, and requests
- A calm and flexible approach to handling pressure and shifting priorities
- Commercially curious, with an interest in understanding how agencies grow client relationships and win new business

- Must reside in the tri-state area and work a hybrid schedule, going into the office 2 days per week (subject to change)
- Ability to operate a computer, telecommunications devices, and other office equipment for prolonged periods
- Clarity of near vision, important for tasks requiring special or minute accuracy
Pay
United States Residents: Bachelor's degree candidates (current students or graduates) are eligible for $20/hour, and Master's degree candidates (current students or graduates) are eligible for $25/hour.
Benefits
Interns are not eligible for company benefits during the internship. Eligibility may be reviewed if the internship is extended or converted to a part-time or full-time position.
