About the Role

Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. (“Oppenheimer”) is a leading middle-market investment bank and full-service broker-dealer with roots tracing back to 1881. The firm is engaged in a broad range of financial services, including retail securities brokerage, institutional sales and trading, investment banking, equity & fixed income research, market making, trust services, and investment advisory and asset management services.

This position supports the Private Client Division in Providence, Rhode Island, focusing on client service, organizational support, and confidential project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Service the needs of various accounts to answer day-to-day questions from clients and advisors.
  • Develop knowledge of forms and account procedures to assist clients effectively.
  • Utilize research and technical support tools to produce quality analytical reports using various software programs.
  • Enhance relationships with advisors through timely and accurate responses to promote firm services.
  • Act with integrity and respect in all situations while cultivating and growing existing client relationships.
  • Assist with marketing efforts and plan client events.
  • Prioritize daily work, track progress of projects and deadlines, answer phones, take messages, and schedule appointments.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a desire to increase knowledge of rules, regulations, and concepts.
  • Handle details of a highly confidential and critical nature, including preparing information for executive discussions.
  • Interact with local office support members, Financial Advisors, and Management.

Requirements

  • Willing to obtain FINRA Registrations: SIE, Series 7, and 63/65 (or 66).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of financial services or fixed income experience would be highly beneficial.
  • High degree of proficiency with technology, including MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and ability to quickly learn internal software programs.
  • Must be a team player with an energetic, positive disposition seeking growth and opportunity to expand the role.
  • Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Strong accuracy, thoroughness, and superb organizational skills.
  • Able to interface and articulate well with all levels of employees, management, and clients in a highly professional, timely, and friendly manner.
  • Able to meet designated deadlines and work effectively in a pressurized environment under time constraints.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks to completion with little or no supervision.
