Job Summary
The Client Service Specialist coordinates and supports business-to-business client and patient billing as associated with contracts for client services. This position represents Monument Health and enhances patient access to care by scheduling diagnostic outpatient services and managing financial clearance.
Essential Functions
- Uses computerized scheduling for appointments and ancillary services following established protocols.
- Schedules appointments promptly and courteously, meeting client expectations.
- Registers and checks in patients, verifying accurate demographic data entry.
- Responds to telephone calls professionally, interpreting caller needs and offering assistance.
- Completes insurance verification, pre-certification, authorization, pre-registration, and notifies patients or responsible parties of estimated amounts due.
- Bills for services related to the patient's visit and efficiently resolves assigned work queue items for accurate and efficient claim submission.
- Accurately posts payments to accounts for contracted services.
- Maintains complete and accurate company profiles and EMR accounts to ensure efficient, accurate, and complete billing.
- Maintains positive and professional business-to-business customer service relations with prospective and contracted client companies.
- Demonstrates knowledge of contracted and third-party payer information to ensure compliance with rules and regulations for accurate reimbursement.
- Collaborates with the department administrative team to secure and maintain business-to-business contracts and fee schedule pricing.
Required Additional Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies, or Associates degree in Healthcare.
- Experience: 1+ years of Billing/Collections, and 1+ years of Scheduling Experience.
