Client Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Client Project Manager to join our Transportation Group. This full-time position involves leading transportation project teams and managing projects for state DOTs, local municipalities, counties, and other public-sector clients. A valid driver’s license and approximately 20% travel are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation project teams, including management of project scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Manage transportation planning, design, and construction projects for public-sector clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as the primary point of contact for project delivery and satisfaction.
• Partner with leadership to identify, pursue, and win new transportation projects and contracts.
• Prepare and oversee project work plans, fee proposals, contracts, budgets, schedules, and resource planning.
• Lead client meetings and coordinate with regulatory and funding agencies.
• Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions to ensure successful outcomes.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure compliance with company and client standards.
• Support strategic business development initiatives and maintain awareness of transportation industry trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least 5 years of relevant transportation engineering and/or project management experience.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (approximately 20%).

Qualifications

• 20 or more years of relevant transportation experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and winning new work.
• Experience performing QA/QC reviews and ensuring high-quality project delivery.
• Strong communication, leadership, and client management skills.
• Knowledge of applicable transportation design standards, regulations, and funding programs.
