Client Portfolio Analyst
About the role
The Client Portfolio Analyst (CPA) is responsible for developing and updating customized client and prospect presentation materials, reflecting the latest market dynamics, portfolio positioning, and performance insights. This individual works closely with the Client Portfolio Manager team and supports client-facing tasks and content creation.
The CPA will partner with Client Portfolio Managers to provide high-quality support during client meetings and roadshows, including pre-meeting preparation and post-meeting follow-up materials. The role involves producing value-added investment commentary, market insights, and thought leadership content (e.g., blogs, white papers, talking points) to support client retention and acquisition efforts.
The CPA will assist in the creation and maintenance of quarterly marketing materials, investment commentary, and strategy updates, coordinating with investment teams to ensure accuracy and consistency. The role also involves liaising with product, legal, compliance, marketing, and other departments to address content and potential issues.
Key to success in this role is the ability to think creatively about product marketing and adapt quickly as business needs evolve. The CPA acts as an extension of the portfolio management team and must have a strong understanding of financial markets, serving as a credible internal spokesperson from both a fundamental analysis and macro-economic perspective.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with portfolio managers and Client Portfolio Managers (CPMs) to become deeply knowledgeable about each investment strategy, including philosophy, process, current themes, risk attributes, portfolio positioning, outlook, and performance attribution.
- Assist with client preparation, understanding key client needs and objections, and building supplemental slides to address client questions and investment trends.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance bespoke collateral for investment products in collaboration with CPMs.
- Drive the development of thought leadership, insight pieces, and presentations across retail and institutional channels, monitoring key investment and industry trends.
- Stay current on the competitive landscape and market trends, clearly articulating product differentiators.
- Develop client and prospect messaging regarding investment capabilities in partnership with CPMs and the investment team, including creating and reviewing marketing and meeting materials.
- Provide regular communications, analysis, and insights to the Sales team for client use.
- Support product marketing initiatives to build sales momentum or defend critical investment franchises.
- Assist Distribution with training, large conferences, and meeting support.
- Manage the internal and external experience for products, working with Product and Marketing teams to support fund-specific content.
- Assist Sales with custom proposals for significant business opportunities and participate in client calls/meetings as needed.
Requirements
- 5-15 years of related experience in financial services.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex investment concepts into client-friendly language.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with a focus on continuous improvement, risk-taking, and creative problem-solving.
- Strong work ethic and drive to succeed.
- Technical skills, including strong investment acumen, understanding of financial markets and economics, and proficiency with Bloomberg, Microsoft Office, Morningstar, and other software products.
- Passion for the industry and capital markets.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong people and influence management skills.
- Undergraduate degree required, preferably in business or a related discipline.

Pay
The salary range for this position in NYC, NY is $105,000–$112,000 per year. Total compensation includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Schedule
Full-time. Employees are expected to comply with Invesco’s Workplace Policy, which includes spending at least four full days each week working in an Invesco office.
