About the role
Patient-focused Phlebotomist responsible for specimen collection, patient care, and lab procedures at a healthcare site.
Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy on diverse patient populations, ensuring specimen integrity and proper labeling.
- Follow safety protocols, review refrigerator temperatures, and document QC/QA records.
- Manage specimen processing, documentation, and communication with lab and medical staff.
- Provide excellent patient interaction, address questions, and ensure safety standards.
- Complete clerical tasks related to lab specimens, including faxing, filing, and result release.
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to organizational policies and ethical practices.
- Participate in team efforts, optimize workflows, and assist with additional site visits as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent; certified or trained in phlebotomy, with at least one year of healthcare experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, specimen handling, and EMR systems preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
