About the role

CAMBA is a community organization providing a wide array of services to over 72,000 individuals and families annually. The Kings Inn Family Shelter is one of the facilities operated by CAMBA, offering a supportive environment for homeless families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in completing CAMBA intake applications, screenings, and forms.
  • Create and maintain client files and make file copies.
  • Conduct initial risk assessments of clients and their families.
  • Prepare initial biopsychosocial evaluations and update according to regulations.
  • Provide “instant response” services when a client's immediate well-being and safety is threatened.
  • Aid in the preparation of Independent Living Plans (ILPs) for clients, including short-term and long-term goals.
  • Help clients attain their goals by identifying and referring them to community resources.
  • Follow up with clients and referral organizations regarding client contact and progress.
  • Consult with others to determine and implement solutions to client problems.
  • Act as an advocate for clients and their families to arrange necessary medical, psychiatric, and other tests and examinations.
  • Alter clients' and their families' attitudes and behaviors to improve their conditions.
  • Facilitate or participate in case conferences to ensure collaborative service delivery.
  • Lead group counseling sessions and psychoeducation to enhance social development and psychological education.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to monitor their progress toward their goals.
  • Document client contact within 48 hours or 3 business days.
  • Periodically reassess clients and update services plans and goals.
  • Follow up with clients post-successful completion of primary goals to ensure stability.
  • Ensure all client charts contain required documentation.
  • Market the program internally to the shelter community to recruit clients.

Requirements

  • Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) required within one year of date of hire. This license must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Two years of relevant experience, preferably in family shelter settings.
  • State Central Registry (SCR) clearance, The Register of Substantiated Category One Cases of Abuse or Neglect (SEL) clearance, and Criminal history information checks via fingerprinting with New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
  • Ability to maintain clearances throughout employment.
  • May require First Aid/CPR certification and overdose prevention certification.
  • Bilingual preferred.

$69,010.00 - $74,160.00 annually
