About the Role
This position focuses on building and maintaining strong customer relationships while promoting Seacoast Bank’s products and services. You will engage with customers to understand their financial goals, provide tailored solutions, and ensure a high level of service through both in-person and technology-driven interactions.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain customer relationships by preparing for interactions, establishing rapport, and using open/closed-ended questions to identify financial goals.
- Match customer needs to Seacoast Bank products and services, explaining them confidently and proficiently.
- Close sales based on customer needs and ask for referrals from new and existing customers.
- Demonstrate strong listening skills and communicate clearly in all situations.
- Utilize customer-facing technology to discuss and enroll customers in self-service products/processes.
- Respond promptly to customer needs and escalate complex financial matters to appropriate personnel.
- Balance business needs with customer requests while managing potential risk to the bank.
- Stay updated on industry changes and embrace new technology to foster innovation.
- Participate in community, charitable, or civic events and deliver presentations on banking products/services at networking events.
- Collaborate with branch and organizational associates to develop trusting and cooperative working relationships.
- Actively pursue NMLS registration status and develop proficiency in consumer deposit and lending products/processes.
- Develop an introductory understanding of small business deposit and lending products/processes.
- Demonstrate proficiency in outbound calling and identify referral opportunities with internal business partners.
- Open and process accounts, perform account maintenance, and handle checks, cash, and negotiable instrument transactions while adhering to bank policies, including AML/BSA requirements.
- Ensure branch adherence to AML/BSA, audit procedures, dual control, security, and business continuity requirements.
- Review and adhere to branch operational procedures and communicate updates to associates.
- Follow up on audit deficiencies and balance cash drawer daily with accuracy.
- Resolve customer objections and problems in a timely and positive manner to retain relationships.
- Adhere to Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct and follow all safety and security procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 6 months cash handling experience.
- College degree or 1+ years in retail sales and/or financial services experience.
- Flexible schedule with availability during branch operating hours, including weekends and occasional non-bank operational hours.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high degree of initiative.
- Proficiency with PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite software.
