About the Role

A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Client Accounting / Billing professional to support the firm's financial operations and ensure compliance with client billing requirements and internal financial policies.

Responsibilities

  • Review Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs) and summarize financial and billing requirements
  • Obtain appropriate approvals for client discounts, billing exceptions, and cost exceptions
  • Implement approved billing requirements and discounts within the firm's financial systems
  • Maintain accurate documentation regarding OCGs and client fee arrangements
  • Partner with Billing and Financial Systems teams to ensure compliance with client agreements
  • Set up billing rates for new timekeepers and process rate changes based on effective dates
  • Assist with monthly write-off reporting and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained
  • Prepare financial reports for Accounting and management review
  • Maintain and analyze client/matter discount policies and agreements
  • Calculate monthly volume discounts and communicate results to billing teams
  • Track Alternative Fee Arrangements (AFAs) and matter budgets and provide analysis of financial performance
  • Maintain accurate client and matter financial notes within the accounting system
  • Respond to inquiries regarding client discounts, billing arrangements, and other financial terms
  • Provide support to regional and international billing teams as needed
  • Assist billing staff with financial system questions and participate in system testing and upgrades
  • Support additional financial and billing projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of law firm billing, client accounting, or related financial experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with billing rates, discounts, write-offs, fee agreements, and client billing guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multiple teams
  • Experience with Elite 3E is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

Pay

Estimated salary range: $110,000–$125,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
