Clerk, Maint Unit
Responsibilities
- Performs various clerical duties in a maintenance-oriented unit or activity.
- Affords assistance in payroll, work scheduling, keeping clerical records, and answering telephones.
- Maintains cost records on normal maintenance work and capital outlay projects, including labor charges, materials expended, and outside contractor costs.
- Maintains personnel records of assigned employees, including work time, sick time, vacation time, and accident records.
- Serves as a point of contact for telephone calls or radio communications dealing with complaints, requests for repairs, technical assistance, emergency maintenance, requests for supervisors, and road calls from workers in the field.
- Schedules and maintains records of maintenance services performed on assigned vehicles and equipment within the maintenance unit, including fuel consumption, accident reporting, preventative maintenance services, and inventory.
- Contacts vendors or businesses to determine prices on items not available through normal channels; prepares purchase orders; coordinates deliveries and pick-ups.
- Presents correspondence for approval of immediate supervisor.
- Opens and distributes mail as directed.
- Performs basic computer skills such as keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
