Responsibilities
- Handles all incoming communications and ensures reliable, consistent coverage for phones.
- Assists patients to sign up for MyChart and encourages their use as the main form of communication with McLeod Health.
- Schedules all appointments, both in the office and hospital surgery center if applicable.
- Coordinates and manages the expectations of all same-day appointments.
- Confirms and follows up on all communication.
- Prepares for upcoming visits by completing tasks that can be done before the patient arrives, including pre-registration functions.
- Identifies and collects copays and previous balances, and assists with payment plans as needed.
- Maintains a paperless, organized work environment and updates patient registries in EPIC.
- Supports the care team by handling key administrative duties.
- Participates in the care team and cross-functional team quality improvement process.
- Maintains confidentiality and sets an example for others.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of computer input required.
- Must be able to perform basic clerical functions.
- Comprehend medical terminology required.
- Good spelling and basic math skills required.
