The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system’s 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City.
The Bureau of Water Supply seeks to hire a Clerical Associate II for a position with the Source Water Protection Directorate, located in Arkville, New York.
Responsibilities
- Provide essential administrative support to the Executive Assistant
- Prepare and draft presentations, correspondence, and reports
- Schedule and coordinate meetings
- Meet and greet DEP visitors at the Arkville office
- Manage inbound phone calls and provide necessary follow-up
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Assist with data entry and filing
- Maintain and restock office supplies
- Perform special tasks as assigned by the Executive Assistant
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Windows Operating System and MS Office Programs including: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with file sharing systems such as SharePoint and OneDrive
- Ability to navigate Citytime timekeeping program
- Ability to learn other software programs such as CMMS

Minimum Qualifications
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization
- One year of satisfactory clerical experience
Skills Requirement
- Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute
Pay
$38,173.00 – $56,872.00
Hours and Shift
35 hours per week. May be required to work shifts including nights, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
