Cleared Senior/Principal Operations and Technical Support Technologist, Onsite

About the role
As an R&D General Technologist, you will be essential in supporting a broad range of operational and technical activities within the Center, contributing to the smooth execution of projects and daily functions.
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining websites and communications to support space management initiatives.
- Assisting in the management and coordination of high-bay VTR space.
- Supporting chemical ordering, organization, and inventory management to ensure safe and efficient handling.
- Managing various inventory needs to support the Center’s operational readiness.
- Providing general support and documentation management for Work, Planning & Control (WP&C) and security programs.
This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions to help the Center meet its goals. Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Pay
Salary range is estimated at $74,700 - $144,400. Actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Requirements
- SharePoint and Confluence: Experienced in using SharePoint and Confluence for effective document management, team collaboration, and organizing content to support workflows.
- Microsoft Office: Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio, capable of creating detailed reports, managing data, developing presentations, and designing process flow diagrams.
- Active Q Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Q-level security clearance due to the sensitive nature of the work and access to classified information.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all work products.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a dynamic R&D team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to diverse audiences and social settings.
- Knowledge of the Chemical Inventory System (CIS) used at Sandia National Laboratories to support chemical tracking and compliance.
- Strong scheduling experience, including the ability to build and manage calendars for technical space management and coordination.
- Extensive experience in documentation management, ensuring proper creation, organization, and maintenance of technical and administrative records.

Department 5401, Integrated Technical Systems, supports all operations within Center 5400 by ensuring consistent interpretation and implementation of regulatory requirements and maintaining core standards across laboratories and programs. We focus on enhancing Safety, Security, and Technical Operations capabilities, providing independent verification for the Center Director, and optimizing facility space to support and advance Mission Assurance. Our efforts protect workforce well-being and uphold operational integrity.
Our diverse team delivers comprehensive support in safety operations, Work Planning & Control, physical security, cybersecurity, system administration, CVTC management, facility management, and inventory control.
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Applicants must be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
