About the role
We are seeking an Engineering & Systems Integration and Implementation Professional to serve as the W93/Mk7 Hardware System Integration Lead.
Responsibilities
- Manage hardware integration, schedule adherence, risk mitigation, and safety compliance across multiple organizations.
- Act as a critical liaison among system component liaisons, test leads, Production Readiness Teams (PRTs), hardware build committees, and federal stakeholders including the Navy and the National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA).
- Negotiate hardware delivery timelines and pedigree requirements with system component liaisons, test leads, and Production Readiness Teams (PRTs).
- Update planners and databases and interface with hardware build committees to track hardware delivery and manage schedule projections.
- Assess impacts of schedule changes at the NNSA and Navy levels and recommend optimal paths forward.
- Provide oversight of the provisioning process for hardware with DoD partners.
- Support test activities including reporting, Material Requisition Schedules (MRS), and pedigree documentation.
- Maintain the W93/Mk7 Safety Case document to ensure hazards and control procedures at facilities are proactively documented and managed.
- Ensure safety compliance and hazard mitigation, particularly related to high explosives and special handling procedures.
- Communicate timely and effectively with Navy and NNSA stakeholders to manage program impacts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field plus 5 or more years of related experience.
- Experience managing projects and their execution, such as defining scope, developing plans and schedules, coordinating personnel and material resources, and tracking progress toward completion.
- Experience with systems engineering principles applied to hardware integration and test execution.
- Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent to start with the ability to obtain and maintain a Sigma 15 security clearance.
Qualifications
- Expertise in the hardware management tool, HAMS/ARAS.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, particularly technical writing, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a high-energy, collaborative, team-focused environment.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines.
- Working knowledge of current Environmental Safety and Health guidelines for the State of New Mexico and Sandia National Laboratories.
- Proven ability to perform technical impact analyses, risk assessments, and hazard identification/mitigation, especially related to high explosives and special handling procedures.
- Experience coordinating and negotiating across multiple organizations and stakeholders, including federal partners.
- Programmatic perspective with the ability to balance detailed technical issues with overall schedule and program impacts.
