About the role

In this role, you will be working on a team to help test and qualify Connectors and LACs in support of new and legacy systems. You will establish methods for electrical and mechanical testing, develop test plans, and execute them. You will partner with engineers and other technologists in our department and other SNL personnel, external vendors, test facilities, and the production agency at KCNSC on a regular basis, so some travel will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize electrical and mechanical skills to establish test methods and troubleshoot problems that arise in set-ups or product.
  • Develop, document, and execute test plans.
  • Review and analyze data and make sure it is accurate and available for further analysis.
  • Communicate with engineers, customers, and management on the status of projects.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and related specification.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics or related field and or relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • An active DOE Q clearance, or equivalent is required to start.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology or related technical field.
  • Knowledge of military or other industrial standards for electrical components, especially those related to electrical connectors.
  • Demonstrated experience with IPC-A-610.
  • Expert-level soldering skills.
  • Knowledge of Sandia's configuration management system, safety requirements and related documentation.
  • Experience crafting technical documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Prioritization and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to work on cross-organizational/multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Pay

$74,700 - $144,400 Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
