About the role

The Clearance Material Handler is responsible for maintaining warehouse stock and assisting in fulfilling orders. This role will be responsible for unloading product deliveries, staging products based on customer orders and assisting with organizing and maintaining existing inventory. The Clearance Material Handler will work closely with the Unloading Team to ensure all merchandise is unloaded safely and carefully to avoid injury and product damage. All pieces must be placed on the unloading floor in the proper area for tagging.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload delivery trucks, utilizing a hand truck as appropriate to make sure that each incoming delivery matches the company purchase order.
    • Offload onto the receiving floor to proper staging area.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; record location of inventory.
  • Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.

Other duties as assigned.

  • General understanding of warehouse or distribution center operations.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate various equipment including forklifts and cherry pickers.
  • Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a Warehouse environment.
  • Able to work flexible hours as determined by the needs of the department, including availability for weekends as needed.
  • Able to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.
  • Able to be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment with Bob’s.
  • Able to move throughout all areas of the distribution center.
  • Able to move objects up to 250 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Standing, walking, lifting, and arranging product: 90%
  • Sitting: 5%
  • Desk or phone work: 5%
