Cleanup at Bird Alliance of Oregon’s NE 82nd Ave Property
About the Site
The Bird Alliance of Oregon acquired a 12.5-acre property on NE 82nd Avenue in early 2025. This site, formerly a landfill, rock quarry, and filled with rubble from the construction of I-205, will soon become the new Wildlife Care Center, a nature park, an outdoor classroom, community solar array, and native habitat for wildlife.
The property is already visited by various local wildlife species such as Lazuli Buntings, Savanna Sparrows, Western Bluebirds, and Western Meadowlarks. The habitat restoration work is funded by grants from the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF) and Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD).
