Cleaning Mech Tech I
About the role
We are seeking a Cleaning Mech/Tech I to join our team at NASA's largest engineering solutions provider. This is a CBA position.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble components and assemblies for the purpose of cleaning contamination to a specified standard, requirement, or per instruction.
- Work under direct supervision of another technician or perform simple tasks.
- Maintain and operate under clean room standards.
- Log data for work performed.
- Bag and tag items to maintain cleanliness and track flight and non-flight purposes.
- Perform related duties as required.
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to hold necessary security clearances.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Prior clean room experience including abrasive, chemical (solvent based), ultrasonic cleaning methods.
- Clean room protocols and familiarity with maintenance procedures (sticky pads, filter change out, etc.).
- Handling of NASA flight hardware.
Skills
- Ability to follow set procedures and standards.
- Planning work and selecting proper tools.
- Follow written and oral directions, plans and blueprints.
- Picture and evaluate solid objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked.
- Recognize and report safety hazards.
- Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.

Schedule
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
