About the role
Cleaners perform a wide range of cleaning tasks to maintain assigned areas in State buildings, surrounding grounds, and walkways. Incumbents work independently or as part of a cleaning team in a variety of settings, such as administrative offices, classrooms, hospitals, laboratories, living areas, treatment areas, and other work areas. This position is classified under various State agencies.

Schedule
Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning tasks in assigned areas
- Maintain State buildings, grounds, and walkways
- Work independently or as part of a cleaning team
- Operate in various settings including offices, classrooms, laboratories, and treatment areas
Requirements
- Physically able to perform the tasks of the position
- Able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
- Valid New York State Driver’s license
