Cleaner, Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center, P27690

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks requiring light, medium, and heavy physical effort in an assigned area.
• Pick up and remove hazardous articles from floors, furniture, and equipment, placing them in designated receptacles.
• Move furniture and equipment in connection with cleaning and care functions.
• Use mops, brushes, detergents, buffers, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning implements to wash floors, corridors, stairs, stairwells, walls, partitions, and interior windows.
• Use manual and/or mechanical equipment to strip, vacuum, wax floors, and shampoo carpets.
• Scrub and clean all areas of lavatories using hand-operated equipment and detergent.
• Dust assigned areas using hand-dusting equipment.

Requirements

• No education or experience requirements.
• Must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position.
• Must be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.

Pay

This position is eligible for the Mid-Hudson adjustment of $2,000.
