Cleaner II

About the role

Fordham University, the Jesuit University of New York, seeks a Cleaner II to provide cleaning and portering services across its Bronx and Manhattan campuses, West Harrison site, Louis Calder Center Biological Field Station, and London Centre. Position Number M01590, FLSA Non‑Exempt, Department: Custodial Services‑RH Campus Rose Hill, scheduled 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provides cleaning and portering services in academic and residential University buildings.
• Removes recyclables and trash in accordance with University procedures.
• Delivers mail in the buildings.
• Rearranges furniture and performs small move jobs when requested.
• Keeps building entrances and perimeters free of leaves, garbage, etc., as needed.
• Signs in and out for all keys.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of six months prior cleaning experience.

Skills

• Ability to read English and follow written instructions.
• Knowledge of general cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance.
• Standard use of power washers, stand‑up vacuums, and backpack vacuums.

Pay

• Minimum biweekly salary for internal applicants with 3+ years of service: $2,364.00.
