Typical Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs cleaning duties in all areas assigned
- Ensures housekeeping company’s standards are followed
- Sweep, mop and wash floors, and other surfaces (inside buildings)
- Sort materials, such as glass, paper or plastics, into appropriate containers for recycling
- Deposit recoverable materials into chutes or place materials on conveyor belts
- Clean recycling yard by sweeping, raking, picking up broken glass and loose paper debris, or moving barrels and bins
- Vacuum rugs in bedrooms, offices and public areas. Spot clean daily and shampoo when directed rugs
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces including periodic high dusting
- Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partition, and specified windows
- Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily
- Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily
- Reports possible necessary maintenance items/defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors
- Collect building trash, recycling and compost. Daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs
- Perform periodic work: High dusting, cleaning stairs, kitchens and leather and wood surface, polishing, wall washing and other duties as assigned
- Snow removal

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
