Cleaner, Full Time 2nd Shift

About the role

Under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, the Cleaner performs a variety of custodial duties in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of C&W Services.

Schedule: 2nd Shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM). Summer schedule (June/July/August): 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings.
• Operate light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot clean and shampoo rugs as directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills, glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior.
• Wash or spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors, etc.
• Monitor and report possible defects such as clogged urinals and burnt-out lights to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move to designated collection areas for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, walkways at building entrances, and connecting sidewalks as directed.
• Move furniture as needed.
• Perform periodic work such as high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing.
• Complete any and all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using cleaning tools and equipment, including portable backpack-style vacuum cleaners.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, strong organizational skills, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Pay

The compensation for this position is $17.58 – $20.68 per hour. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
