Duties Description
Shares duties with one other cleaner, covering a wide range of buildings including maintenance areas, toll utility buildings, and the back up operations center.
Cleans and removes hazardous or misplaced items, waste and spills and disposes, transports, or places such in appropriate receptacles locations.
Washes floors, corridors, stairwells, walls, partitions and windows using mops, detergents, brushes and other cleaning tools.

Vacuuming, stripping and waxing floors.
Shampoos carpets, using manual or mechanical equipment.
Scrubs and cleans showers and all restrooms, including toilets, sinks and drains.
Maintains cleaning supplies and equipment; and notifies supervisor of supply levels, equipment malfunction, and/or maintenance issues observed during cleaning.
Replaces light bulbs, and dusts or washes light fixtures and high places, such as ceilings, using ladders, other appropriate equipment, and tools.
Assembles cleaning carts according to assigned tasks; and prepares, mixes, and dilutes cleaning solutions following manufacturer directions.
May be responsible for light weeding and planting along the outside of the buildings and around the Albany Division complex.

Minimum Qualifications
There are no education or experience requirements for this class.
Cleaners must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

Pay
The salary range for this position includes all applicable annual components of pay which are: Base Pay: $16.39 hiring rate up to $23.65 job rate Recruitment & Retention Pay: $3.37
Schedule
Will travel to other locations within Albany Division.
