Responsibilities
- Perform janitorial duties as assigned.
- Clean up projects including, but not limited to, cleaning pipes, lights, beams, floors, stairs, line belts, conveyors, or other production equipment as needed.
- Scrape rusty areas, prime, and paint as needed.
- Empty trash throughout the day into dumpsters and take to East dock.
- Follow assigned clean-up project list.
- Use hand truck and floor scrubber for assorted duties.
- Remove, empty, clean, and replace inedible containers daily as needed.
- Wash trees and combs.
- Keep department equipment clean and supplied with cleaning utensils and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
- Must be able to work independently.
Tools & Equipment
- Paint, brushes, scrapers, mops, brooms, hoses, hand trucks, floor scrubbers, wash stations, chemicals, etc.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- The majority of the time is spent in the plant environment and will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
- Noise level is loud in the production area and hearing protection is always required.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and be capable of dumping 500 lb dumpsters.
- Vision requirement of at least 20/40 for near and far vision.
Safety Equipment/Training Requirement
- Bump cap, hair/beardnet, eye protection/goggles, hand protection, hearing protection, safety shoes, respirator, PAPR/hood, rain suit.
- Mandatory training/competency to be earned: proper lifting, PPE, chemical-specific, PAPR/hood, fall protection, respirator, PIT, Elevator.
Pay
Competitive starting pay: $22.91/hour.
