About the role
The Clean Energy Advisor role is a one-year, on-the-job training opportunity designed to support students, adult learners, and part-time workers seeking to launch a career in California’s clean energy industry. This role offers flexible scheduling within standard business hours and combines paid online coursework, in-person learning, and hands-on experience supporting the Central California Rural Regional Energy Network’s (CCR REN) Commercial Energy Improvement Program.
Responsibilities
- Participate in, engage with, and learn the materials presented during the on-the-job education and training.
- Collaborate with and support the CCR REN Partner, the San Joaquin Valley Clean Energy Organization, to conduct outreach to potential customers, including presentations, and one-on-one meetings, as needed.
- Conduct on-site equipment assessments with customers that align with program offerings, gather required photos and other necessary documentation to make recommendations.
- Present the corresponding recommendations for services offered by the program and gain commitments by customers to proceed through obtaining necessary signed documents and other required customer information.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain project data to ensure compliance with existing project delivery processes.
- Proactively engage with underrepresented customer segments to ensure equitable program access and benefits.
- Support the successful completion of energy efficiency projects from beginning-to-end by maintaining communication with the customers and coordinating with the program delivery team.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with clients, employees and employer.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Valid driver's license in the State of California. Ability to day travel.
