About the role

Under the direction of district administrators, the Classroom Teacher is responsible for developing lesson plans to present district curriculum in assigned instructional subjects; instructing students using lesson plans and instructional material; and evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional outcomes and objectives. Teachers also participate and collaborate with other instructional professionals, administrators, parents, counselors, and other district personnel concerning student needs, issues and district learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Create lesson plans and instructional material based on district curriculum
  • Instruct students in assigned instructional subjects
  • Evaluate and assess student progress against instructional outcomes and objectives
  • Collaborate with other instructional professionals, administrators, parents, counselors, and other district personnel concerning student needs, issues and district learning initiatives
  • Establish and maintain positive and supportive relationships with students
  • Develop and implement classroom management procedures
  • Communicate effectively and frequently with families
  • Organize the learning environment to support effective behavior management
  • Facilitate the use of instructional strategies which promote student agency
  • Utilize and respond to data/information including the development and use of assessments
  • Plan and deliver effective instruction
  • Reflect on instruction and employ metacognitive practices
  • Employ teacher as facilitator strategies and promote student agency

Requirements

Successful candidates must have a strong work ethic, be energetic and passionate about their work, enjoy working collaboratively, embrace technology as a core tool in their everyday life, recognize the importance of education, and have a solid SEL base with explicit tier one instruction in all classrooms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Valid teaching license in the state of operation
  • Experience teaching elementary school students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
  • Knowledge of educational technology and its integration into the classroom

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, with a typical workday consisting of 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
