About the role

Classroom Support Staff serve classrooms with children ages 0‑3 at Flowers Early Learning, a high‑quality preschool in Watervliet, Michigan. The organization’s mission is “to build a future where children, families and communities thrive.”

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver food to classrooms.
• Monitor hallways and bathrooms.
• Provide classroom coverage during teacher and associate teacher breaks.
• Assist with cleaning classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Minimum education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; AA or higher for higher pay rate.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
• Completion of a physical examination.
• Comprehensive fingerprinted criminal background check.
• Pre‑employment drug screen (negative for amphetamines, cannabinoids, cocaine, opiates, and PCP).

Qualifications

Entry‑level position; no prior experience required. Candidates may be Head Start Parents with one year of relevant experience.

Pay

HS Diploma/GED: $15.60 per hour.

AA or higher: $17.19 per hour.

Schedule

Full‑time, Program Year (August – May). Expected schedule: Monday‑Thursday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. Hours may vary with training requirements.
