School-Based ABA

The goal of ABA therapy is to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that are harmful or affect learning. In the school-based ABA service model, each child receives one-on-one support from a trained Behavior Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the individualized goals designed and maintained by a special education teacher and/or BCBA
  • Gather quantifiable data necessary for the teacher and/or BCBA to evaluate the effectiveness of the plan in achieving goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in ABA, autism support, behavior support, special education, classroom assistance, behavior technician, behavior interventionist, or paraprofessional preferred
  • Desire and ability to work with school-aged children with behavioral challenges
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Technically savvy with the ability to complete documentation in a timely manner using a mobile device
  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal history background check and all of the appropriate clearances and documentation listed below

Credentialing Requirements

  • PA Criminal History Record Check
  • FBI Fingerprint Background Check
  • CPR/First Aid
  • TB Screening
  • Education Documentation - Diploma or Transcripts

GAMUT Behavioral Services is looking for motivated, passionate educators to support and work with students in the school setting as Behavior Therapists. Our learners have a variety of social and behavioral challenges so a true passion for this work is a must!

Requirements

Current or recent experience in special education, ABA, autism, childcare, or other positions supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. We will train the right people!
