Classroom Assistant I PT - Positive Behavior Motivator (PBIS)

About the role

This is a 25-hours per week position focused on motivating positive behavior across the school. The role involves designing and leading school-wide incentive programs, engaging activities, and collaborating with teachers and staff to reinforce PBIS principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, organize, and implement school-wide PBIS incentive programs, including rewards, recognition systems, and behavior challenges
• Lead engaging activities such as games, assemblies, and competitions that promote positive behavior
• Collaborate with teachers to support PBIS strategies within classrooms
• Work directly with students in small groups, classrooms, and large group settings to reinforce expectations and build positive habits
• Track and monitor student participation and behavior data related to PBIS initiatives
• Assist in developing and maintaining school-wide behavior expectations and recognition systems
• Support staff in embedding PBIS principles into daily instruction and classroom management
• Help create a fun, motivating, and inclusive school culture

Qualifications

• Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Creativity and enthusiasm for student engagement
• Ability to manage and energize both small and large groups
• Familiarity with PBIS or similar behavior frameworks preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Pay

• Lane 1 Step 1: $17.53/hour (Not Highly Qualified)
• Lane 2 Step 1: $18.51/hour (Associate's degree or 48 semester hours from an accredited college/university)
• Lane 3 Step 1: $19.55/hour (Current/Former Licensed Teacher - Highly Qualified Information)
