About the Role
The Coachella Valley Unified School District seeks qualified individuals to fill substitute classified positions for the 2026-2027 school year. A job fair will be held on August 19, 2026.
Responsibilities
Substitutes may work in various positions depending on their work experience. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs frequently and bending/reaching. TB clearance is required upon hire.

Qualifications
- All application fields must be filled out and the following documents are REQUIRED to be attached with your application:
- A current resume
- Two professional letters of recommendation dated within the past 12 months, from a former or current supervisor
- Blank or incomplete applications will NOT be accepted.
- If your work/volunteer experience does not match any of the positions available to substitute, your application will not be considered.
- Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis. Selected candidates will be contacted to move forward to get fingerprinted for DOJ and FBI. Once candidates clear TB and fingerprints they will be invited to attend a mandatory orientation.
Comments and Other Information
- The Job Fair will be held on July 22, 2026 from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM and 1:00 PM-3:00 PM.
- You must bring your photo ID to be admitted to the Job Fair, which will be held at the Coachella Valley Unified School District Office, 87-225 Church Street, Thermal, CA 92274.
- Your application must be filled out completely, with all required documents submitted prior to the application deadline.

- Bus Monitor-$17.15
- Campus Security Assistant-$22.38 (SB1626 and guard card required upon hire)
- Clerical- $17.26 (5 minute 45 wpm net speed typing certificate required)
- Custodian-$19.36
- Kitchen Worker-$16.90
- Safety Supervisor-16.90
- Instructional Support-$18.86
- Mechanic-$23.20 (Prior experience required. Must pass a mechanic's test)
