JOB DESCRIPTION – Paraprofessional- CTE TITLE: Paraprofessional- CTE FTE: 0.875 FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt HOURS PER DAY: 7 WORK CALENDAR: 195 days COMPENSATION: Classified Non Exempt Compensation Guide (Starting at $17.85/hour) Essential Duties And Responsibilities Assists with learning activities within the construction classroom and labMonitors lab assignments given by the teacherMaintains confidential classroom student files and recordsAssists with inventory and accounting procedures of career and technical education Assists with the implementation of instruction modifications per the Individualized Education PlanCommunicates with teachers regarding the students' needs and progressAssists teacher during field tripsAssists with student testingPrepares materials for lab useMaintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issuesProvide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and communityPerform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner Maintain punctual and regular attendancePerform other related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education / Certificate Associate of Arts degree or paraprofessional certification required Must have OSHA 10 safety card within 45 days of hire Must be eligible to obtain district driver's license to be able to drive district vehicles Must have and maintain a valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card Experience Prior experience working with Career and Technical Education students desired Must possess knowledge and experience in construction (masonry, electrical, framing, plumbing, roofing, etc.) Must be 21 years of age or older upon hire Communication Skills Must have good speaking, reading and writing skills Must possess positive attitude toward students, teachers, staff and parents/guardians Bilingual communication is beneficial Computer Skills Knowledge of Google SuitesMust possess basic computing and clerical skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
