About the Role
At the Kentucky Department of Corrections, the Division of Reentry is recognized for offering offenders "A second chance to make a first impression." The mission of Reentry is to make Kentucky safer by reducing recidivism rates. As a Classification and Treatment Officer, you will be heavily involved in the planning, facilitating, and evaluation of prerelease services for the reentry of offenders into the community.
Responsibilities
- Performs duties in the evaluation and assessment of potential reentry needs of inmates in a correctional setting.
- Enhances community involvement with the offender population by connecting offenders with providers that will assist them upon release.
- Monitors and facilitates PORTAL New Directions, Moral Recognition Therapy, and pre-release programming as needed.
- Prepares monthly reports.
- Maintains files according to American Correctional Association (ACA) standards.
- Performs other duties as required.

Requirements
- EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
- EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: None required, but additional experience in corrections, law enforcement, or a related field will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will also substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office setting within a correctional institution.
Pay
Salary: $52,501.44 Annually
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week, eligible for overtime pay.
