Class C Driver/Mover (Class A Trainee)

About the role

Full-time mover position with NOR-CAL Moving Services, a provider of business relocation services in Northern California for 37 years. Movers transport furniture, office equipment, and related items within customer sites, operate vehicles and mechanical equipment, and routinely interact with customers. Earn-while-you-learn program available for Class A training, with increased pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload furniture and related materials onto and off trucks, ensuring appropriate padding and securing to prevent damage.
• Operate mechanical lift gates to facilitate loading and unloading of materials.
• Locate and relocate desks, chairs, tables, file cabinets, and other office equipment and furniture.
• Arrange and set up furniture and related items for customers.
• Operate a large moving truck to transport materials as necessary.
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Perform general maintenance, custodial, and trash removal tasks as needed.
• Serve as the main contact person in communications with customers regarding work orders.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid Class C license and must be insurable.
• Available and willing to work weeknights and weekends as needed.
• Capable of fulfilling the physical demands of the position, including safely lifting 75 lbs.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Dependable, flexible, and able to work well with co-workers, supervisors, and customers.
• Willingness to work in all aspects of office relocation duties.
