Class B CDL: Battery Delivery Driver - Houston, TX (8354)

About the role

Using a company truck, deliver and replenish battery inventories for established accounts. Maintain the storage area at the warehouse for battery inventory and monitor the actual battery inventory. Employee is exposed to environmental elements.

Starting pay rate: $21/hour (pay commensurate with experience).

Responsibilities

• Delivery and restocking of battery inventory at customer locations
• Collection of battery cores and processing of defects from customers
• Rotating inventory stock at customer locations and the warehouse (First In, First Out - FIFO)
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the battery storage location at the warehouse
• Logging mileage and delivery stops, and conducting daily inspections of the delivery truck to assess fluid levels and mechanical integrity
• Soliciting new business from car dealers, fleets, construction companies, garages, parts stores, boat dealerships, etc.
• Performing consignment audits on all route customers every 6 months

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Texas driver’s license
• Clear driving record for the previous 3 years
• Able to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
• Courteous treatment of and assistance to customers
• High degree of attention to prevent injury and damage when operating a company vehicle
• Able to follow oral and written instructions
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Work involves continual walking, lifting, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching
• Frequent climbing and descending of stairs
• Able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. continuously
• Able to read and write in English

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Class B CDL License

Pay

$21/hour (commensurate with experience).
