About the role

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition. They are the face of our company, building lasting relationships with our customers.

Pay

$28/hr.

Schedule

4-day work week. Shift start time between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive-and-drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely and on time, in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers to answer questions accurately and promptly.
  • Perform all required safety checks (e.g., pre/post-trip inspections) of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards; report safety issues or needed repairs.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; immediately report safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as needed.
  • Deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedules; unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor about removing orders as per company policy.
  • Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures; collect payment (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors; ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked or secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring them to driver check-in, and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload equipment and materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily records of hours of service and enter logs in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clean.
  • Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one.
  • Able to hand-lift and use equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights (10–90 pounds) throughout the shift.
