Class A Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to the company’s safety plan.
• Review daily schedule to determine supply needs and accuracy of routing.
• Ensure daily supplies are on vehicle before leaving dock to proceed with daily schedule.
• Communicate with logistics department at the end of each stop on scheduled route.
• Use assigned tablet for our Electronic logging device system.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections through Encompass app on assigned tablet.
• Perform vehicle fueling and turn in corresponding receipts to logistics manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Valid Class A Driver License.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• 2+ years of tractor trailer or roll-off truck driving experience.
• Current clear motor vehicle report.
• 2+ years’ experience packaging and preparing loose freight for transport (preferred).
• Ability to communicate in English (oral and written).
• Must pass DOT physical and drug testing requirements.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to work outside under extreme temperature conditions (heat, cold, snow, etc.).
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
• Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and risk of radiation.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
