The Truck Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and professional transportation services to support company operations and customer requirements. This role ensures the timely pick-up and delivery of materials and equipment while complying with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, traffic laws, and company policies. This role serves as a key representative of the company at customer locations and is expected to maintain high service and safety standards. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, safe driving practices, and effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate delivery routes to maximize efficiency, fuel usage, and effective use of equipment.
- Support customers in preparing shipments to ensure safe, secure, and accurate transportation of materials and units.
- Complete, maintain, and manage all required shipping and delivery documentation to ensure accurate records.
- Maintain all required DOT documentation and records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Operate company vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and internal safety policies.
- Conduct routine vehicle and equipment inspections, perform basic preventive maintenance, and report defects or repair needs to supervision.
- Maintain vehicles and equipment in a clean, safe, and professional condition consistent with company standards.
- Safely operate pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment at company and customer locations.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trailers, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently.
- Arrive on time to customer locations to meet scheduled pick-up and delivery windows and maintain service reliability.
- Serve as a professional liaison between the company and customers by maintaining clear communication and positive working relationships.
- Coordinate with Sales and internal teams to address customer needs, resolve issues, and support overall customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for the assigned vehicle.
- Ability to meet DOT physical examination, drug screening, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirements.
- OTR Commercial driving & hazardous waste hauling experience – one year required, three years preferred.
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to safely and proficiently operate commercial vehicles.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
- Basic arithmetic skills related to shipping and delivery documentation.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to represent the company professionally.
- Ability to operate material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks and overhead cranes.
- Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor environments and exposure to extreme temperatures.

$34.00/hour – $50.00/hour
