About the Role

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Brookshire, TX for a local, home-daily route delivering furniture. This is a solo driving position with no-touch freight, offering weekly pay and excellent benefits.

Pay

  • Solo Miles Pay: $0.678 per mile with 1,900 miles per week
  • Solo Stops Pay: $20.00 per stop with 5 stops per week
  • Loyalty Bonus: $5,000 paid out over a 6-month period
  • Earnings: $1,440 or more weekly
  • Paid training

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday
  • Start time ranges from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM depending on load
  • Home daily

Route & Equipment

  • Route: Local, delivering to surrounding areas
  • Tractor Type: Day cab (must be able to drive a manual)
  • Trailer Type: Dry Van (28' & 53')
  • Freight: No-touch furniture
  • Trucks: 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance
  • Fueling: Company drivers fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide

Doubles endorsement and experience required at time of interview.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
  • Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Note: Some positions may require additional screening, such as employment/education verification, motor vehicle records check, and customer-specific badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate records and logs
  • Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by the customer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
