About the role

As a Driver, Shuttle, you will transport empty trailers to Operating Company warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You will transport loaded 28' coupled trailers (doubles) from the HUB location to the home location in Leitchfield, KY, then return empty doubles to the HUB. Standard pre- and post-inspections and coupling/uncoupling are part of the assigned duties.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations safely and timely, in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers to answer questions accurately and promptly.
  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards; report safety issues or required repairs.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; immediately report safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight; ensure all required route paperwork is available upon dispatch.
  • Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedules; perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
  • Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas; ensure all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and secured.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailers; complete necessary paperwork upon return to base facility.
  • Unload equipment and materials; remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter logs in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clean as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A with Doubles Endorsement preferred (willing to train).
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (10–90 pounds) throughout shift.

Pay

  • $24.00 per hour.
  • $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Schedule

Sunday – Thursday, 6:00 PM start time. Home daily.
