Class A Delivery Driver

American Welding & Gas, Inc. (AWG) manufactures and distributes industrial, medical, specialty, and beverage gases across 20 states, with headquarters in Raleigh, NC.

About the role

This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position eligible for overtime, offering on-the-job and ongoing training, career growth opportunities, and a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Provide cylinder and/or bulk deliveries to customers and inner branches using a combination tractor-trailer truck.
• Perform inventory control functions, including loading and unloading trucks.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly working environment.
• Ensure vehicles are appropriately placarded and/or labeled for hazardous materials.
• Ensure compliance with CGMP, Hazmat, OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies.
• Prepare, complete, and ensure accuracy of paperwork and electronic trip-logs.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Achieve delivery objectives set forth by the manager; overnight trips may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• CDL Class B license with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brakes endorsements.
• Successful completion of DOT pre-employment drug-screen, physical, and company-administered road test.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Clean driving record with 3+ years of experience.
• Ability to lift 75–100 pounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and comfort using computers.
• Strong customer service skills.
