Haul fuel throughout Alabama.
Responsibilities
- Drives company trucks to destinations and operates equipment to transport fuel.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and company rules and regulations for the safe operation of a hazardous cargo tank motor vehicle.
- Follow proper methods of loading and unloading for the various cargo transported.
- Report to logistics at the specified time and maintain contact with logistics and dispatch offices as required.
- Complete driver daily logs, delivery tickets, trip reports, fuel reports, damage reports, and other required paperwork.
- Comply with loading/unloading procedures for appropriate cargos.
- Follow company guidelines for acceptable conduct when dealing with customers, fellow employees, and the public.
- Comply with all company safety and performance standards.
- Represent the company professionally to customers, the public, and the trucking industry.
- Maintain records for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver's logs, fuel purchases, and mileage records.
- Report all accidents immediately involving the driver and/or company equipment, regardless of damage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements and state requirements, carried in the truck cab while in service.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate, under 49 CFR, Section 391.43-49 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- 2 years of verifiable over-the-road driving experience.
- Knowledge of all applicable DOT and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Able to work any shift on any day, including weekends and holidays.
- Able to hook and unhook trailers when required.
- Able to drive for up to 11 hours and work a total of 14 hours while transporting hazardous materials.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to read and speak English.
- Must meet all qualifications in 49 CFR Section 391.11(b)(1) & (2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Able to walk, bend, reach, push, stoop, squat, climb, grasp, lift, and handle heavy equipment for safety during hooking and dropping processes of tractor/trailer combinations.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Normal range of hearing, vision, and smell.
