Class A CDL Truck Driver (part-time; home every night)

About the role

Peninsula Powder Coating is seeking a reliable, part-time Class A CDL Truck Driver for local and regional driving in Baraga, Michigan. Drivers are home every night and all experience levels are welcome.

In this role, you will deliver and pick up customer parts, review orders before delivery, assist with loading and unloading as needed, and provide friendly, professional service to customers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up customer parts
• Review orders before delivery
• Assist with loading and unloading as needed
• Perform required DOT pre- and post-trip truck and trailer inspections, including checking vehicle gross and axle weights
• Secure loads with straps, chains, or other fasteners
• Perform minor repairs to truck/trailer (e.g., changing light bulbs, wiper blades, tires)
• Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of assigned truck
• Maintain a legal driver’s log in accordance with state and federal regulations

Requirements

• Class A CDL with air brake endorsement
• Current medical card and must meet required DOT employment qualifications
• Physical ability to climb up and down from fleet vehicles and trailers, and secure loads
• Knowledge of DOT pre- and post-trip inspection procedures
• Ability to perform minor truck/trailer repairs
• Exceptional work ethic and top-notch customer service skills
• Organized, reliable, and able to work well individually and as a team member
• Able to work under time constraints and meet deadlines

Previous truck driving experience is helpful.

Pay

$19 – $22 per hour starting wage, based on experience.

Schedule

Part-time position working approximately 25 hours per week. Driving is always during the work week, with no weekends. Schedule flexibility is required as hours are based on client delivery needs. Home every night.
