Basic Requirements
- Current valid Class A Commercial Drivers License
- Willing and able to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations
- Willing and able to follow directions
- Must pass pre-employment and randomized drug testing
- Must be insurable with no major infractions or encumbrances
Responsibilities
- Knowledge and compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company rules and regulations for safe operation of a commercial vehicle
- Knowledge and compliance with proper methods of loading and unloading for various cargos
- Report to logistics at specified times and maintain contact with logistics and dispatch offices
- Complete driver daily logs, delivery tickets, trip reports, fuel reports, damage reports, and other required paperwork
- Follow company guidelines for acceptable conduct with customers, fellow employees, and the public
- Comply with all company safety and performance standards
- Represent the company professionally to customers, the public, and the trucking industry
- Maintain records for compliance with state and federal regulations (driver's logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, etc.)
- Report all accidents immediately, regardless of damage, to the manager
- Perform other duties as assigned
Documentation Required
- Current and valid Commercial Driver's License with appropriate endorsements and state requirements
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (49 CFR, Section 391.43-49)
Additional Requirements
- 2 years of verifiable over-the-road driving experience
- Knowledge of all applicable DOT and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Able to work any shift on any day
- Able to hook and unhook trailers when required
- Able to drive for up to 11 hours and work a total of 14 hours, including transporting material and sitting for extended periods
- At least 21 years of age and able to read and speak English
- Must meet all qualifications in 49 CFR Section 391.11(b)(1) & (2)
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Able to walk, bend, reach, push, stoop, squat, climb, grasp, lift, and handle heavy equipment for safety during hooking and dropping processes (49 CFR Sections 396.11-15)
- Normal range of hearing, vision, and smell
